ใฏ (wa) marks the topic of your sentence โ the thing you're talking about. Think of it as saying 'as forโฆ' or 'speaking ofโฆ' It doesn't mean 'is' by itself โ it just points a spotlight at one word. Fun fact: it's written with the hiragana ใฏ but pronounced 'wa' only as a particle!
